Before November break students at SBS were busy making Oobleck! Oobleck acts like a liquid when poured, but like a solid when there is force. This simple science experiment made with corn starch and water taught key science concepts and gave students the opportunity to observe how ingredients interact with each other in varying quantities. Students celebrated with Oobleck cheers when there mixture was both liquid and solid. #SDOCscience

SBS students visited the Red Brick Schoolhouse to learn about the local history of Chatham. Students were excited to learn that George Washington attended school right here in Chatham . Students also recognized familiar places like Noe Pond and Fairmount Country Club and were surprised that the country club used to be a dairy farm. Students participated in an interactive scavenger hunt of the museum displays that are organized by each of Chatham's original school districts to learn about what it was like to live and go to school from 1860-1928 when the Southern Boulevard School was built. #SDOC2023 #SDOCsbs
