Yesterday students and staff members joined together with law enforcement to support Special Olympics in the annual Torch Run. Starting at Southern Boulevard School, runners followed a route that passed all Chatham schools. We were excited to welcome students back to the sidelines this year to cheer the runners on as they passed each school.





School closed tomorrow, May 23, Friday, May 24, and Monday May 27. Delayed opening on Tuesday, May 28th. Enjoy the long weekend!!


The Board of Education is planning to adopt the 2025/2026 district calendar by the end of this school year. There are three calendars currently under consideration. Last week WAS welcomed Nick Bruel for Author's Day. Students learned how to craft and illustrate stories. Students put their artistic skills into action, designing buttons to wear for the day. Author's Day is a highlight every year and is made possible by the WAS PTO.

Mark your calendars the District Art Show is May 20 and 21st from 6:30-8:30 P.M. We are excited to announce special hours for Senior Citizens. Seniors are invited on May 21 from 10 AM - 12 PM. Student artists will act as docents during the Senior viewing hours.





School calendar has been updated to reflect unused snow days. School will be closed Thursday, May 23 and Friday, May 24. MAS, SBS & WAS will have an early dismissal on May for kindergarten screenings.


Reminder tonight is the Reorganization & Regular Board of Education Meeting in the CHS Auditorium at 7:30 P.M.


Our 3rd graders brought down the house last week, singing about the earth and the sky for the spring concert. We are excited to watch your students continue their musical journey at LAF. Third graders will be learning more about applied music opportunities at LAF in the upcoming weeks.

WAS students were excited to participate in Cougar Bowl last week! This fun event encourages students to work in teams to answer trivia questions. Each team picks a team name and designs a poster together. Many teams also come up with group costume to show their team spirit.




The Chatham High School club Students Against Cancer will host the Second Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 23 from 3pm to 5 pm in the High School cafeteria. Entry is $25 per child and includes basket making, toys, crafts, coloring, bake sale and of course the egg hunt. Please RSVP to Amanda Sproviero at asproviero@chatham-nj.org by March 18th with number and ages of children attending.


We hope every seat is filled tonight for the Maud Dahme presentation. Her story is transformative and will resonate with you long after you leave tonight. Join us in the CHS auditorium at 7 P.M. for this community event.


Yesterday was the annual District Choral Festival. Backtrack worked with students in each grade level individually then as a combined group to record a song. Students also learned beat boxing techniques and how to incorporate them nto musical pieces. District Choral day is made possible by a grant from the Cahtham Education Foundation Ryan T. Ganley Memorial Fund (Metviner Family).

School District of the Chathams welcomes Holocaust Survivor Maud Dahme back to present to parent and community members on the evening of Thursday, March 7 at 7 PM in the Chatham High School Auditorium. Maude Dahme has a remarkable and inspiring story that we are excited to share with the community at large. This program is made possible by the Chatham Education Foundation and the New Jersey Commission on Holocaust Education.
