CHS welcomed 8th Graders and their parents yesterday for orientation. Students received building tours by Links leaders to facilitate a smooth transition next year. Mark your calendars the District Art Show is May 20 and 21st from 6:30-8:30 P.M. We are excited to announce special hours for Senior Citizens. Seniors are invited on May 21 from 10 AM - 12 PM. Student artists will act as docents during the Senior viewing hours.

Sixth graders enjoyed their field trip to Liberty Science Center last Friday. The butterflies were a favorite exhibit. Students also had the opportunity to visit the planetarium.
CMS students were released just in time for the solar eclipse yesterday. Glasses have never been so cool.
CMS students competed in Minute to Win It games as a fun way to head into Spring Break. 8th graders clinched the win to secure their spot as the winner of the Week of Champions. Students have been participating in school activities and competions all all year to earn points for their grade to try and win the week of Champions. Congratulations to the 8th grade!!
8th grade Food Truck presentations are one of the tastiest ways to end the marking period! This class continues to be a favorite at CMS and encourages students to work in groups to bake and market their product to staff members who act as judges.

In honor of Music in our Schools Month, we are recognizing the accomplishments of students across the district who represented Chatham in honors music ensembles outside of school this year. These ensembles are extremely competitive and we are proud of their talent, dedication and hard work .
Dr. Hrdina and Ms. Wittenberg presented at The AMTNJ Conference at Rutgers University last week. They led other educators through a math workshop on "Making Connections to the Real World".
One of the coveted 8th grade traditions at CMS is being selected to be a part of the MAS connection. Selected members visit MAS each month to act as role models and engage is different activities with third graders. When the weather is nice outside, students have the opportunity to engage in outdoor games, creative problem solving and science activities.
Seventh graders took advantage of the warm weather and reviewed punnet squares outside last week.
