Eighth graders took on Washington DC last week applying what they learned in civics this year. It was a great week visiting monuments, museums and landmarks. The week was also laced with a heavy dose of friendship and fun. #SDOCcms
CMS theatre arts students performed Kamp Kaos, Oliver Twist, Winnie the Pooh and Legally Blonde Jr. to close out the Spring Semester. CMS students direct, act, create sets and act as stage crew for these productions, CHS interns act as producers. #SDOCcms

Students at CMS made ramekins to sell at the District Art Show to raise money for the Chatham Community Food Distribution at Chatham United Methodist Church. Katrina Keeshan, CMS art teacher, spearheaded this initiative and dropped off a $500 donation yesterday. #sdocgivesback

7th graders visited the @New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium ths week. Students learned about beach formation and processes. They used seining nets to observe salt marsh plants and sea animals. Students also went on a beach hike, collected and identified shells. #SDOCscience

Fantastic inaugural District Jazz Night! CHS Dance Club and Garage Band opened the night. CHS orchestra students and singer Charley Baird-Hassell joined the CHS Jazz Ensemble for a showstopping number. 5th graders showed they were absolutely ready for improv and solos.#SDOCarts

CMS 8th Graders and MAS 3rd graders celebrated Earth Day last Friday learning about pond life. Students participated in a food web activity to learn about the pond ecosystem, a scavenger hunt, and a relay race to remove trash from the "fish pond". #SDOCscience
