One School, One Book
What is One School, One Book?
This school-wide event is where students and their families take 10 to 30 minutes a day to read aloud together.
Our students are captivated when their teachers read to them in school.
This age group continues to benefit from read alouds.
Studies show that reading to children helps them to listen better and longer, to build bigger vocabularies, to understand concepts better, to feel positive about both books and learning.
During homeroom, students will "turn and talk" about the book.
They use Flip to share ideas and make connections!
Students enter a raffle for chances to take home items from the story and write or draw in journals.
Special projects are also a way for students and families to connect to their book.
