Section 1. To be eligible for membership in the Chatham ASL Honor Society, students must meet the following criteria:

Student must be in 11th or 12th grade
Student must be actively enrolled in an American Sign Language class (American Sign Language III or higher).
Student must have completed at least five semesters of American Sign Language.
Transfer students must have spent one full semester in the program at Chatham High School before eligibility.
Student must have earned a final average of 90% or higher in each of the 2 previous courses and an average of at least 90% in the most recently completed semester.
Students who complete the highest level course offered in fewer than 5 semesters and who earned a 90% average or better in each of their high school American Sign Language courses will be eligible the following year.
Complete a minimum of five (5) community service hours that benefit the school, local Deaf community, or the wider Deaf World.

Section 2. Students who meet the qualifications in Section 1 may join the “Chatham American Sign Language Honor Society” chapter.
