Section 1. To be eligible for membership in the Chatham Société Honoraire de Français, students must meet the following criteria:

Student must be in 11th or 12th grade
Student must be actively enrolled in a French class (French III or higher).
Student must have completed at least five semesters of French.
Transfer students must have spent one full semester in the program at Chatham High School before eligibility.
Student must have earned a final average of 90% or higher in each of the 2 previous courses and an average of at least 90% in the most recently completed semester.
Students who complete the highest level course offered in fewer than 5 semesters and who earned a 90% average or better in each of their high school French courses will be eligible the following year.

Section 2. Students who meet the qualifications in Section 1 may join the “Chatham Société Honoraire de Français” chapter.
